Guardian supervision is required for children under 13. The guardian is charged a Volunteer Bond
for the class; The child is free. Permission MUST be obtained for children to be unsupervised.
Rhythmz Kinder-Combo
Children Ages 4-6 are given formal training in basic ballet, jazz, and contemporary dancing techniques. They are introduced to proper posture, form, and stretching. They learn beginner dance moves set to music and are prepared to progress on to advanced dance classes. Comfortable clothing and appropriate shoes are required. You may provide your own or get them through Rhythmz at little to no cost.
Intro To Dance
Children ages 6-12 years with little to no dance experience are introduced to the basics of dance. They learn how to effectively move to music and coordinate basic dance steps to music.
Dance Basics
Students ages 13 & up with little to no dance experience are introduced to the basics of dance. They learn how to effectively move to music and perform beginner and intermediate dance steps.
Hip Hoppers
Children ages 5-8 years with little to no dance experience are introduced to basic hip hop dancing techniques. They will learn age appropriate choreography set to music and are prepared to eventually progress on to the Hip Hop class.
Hip Hop
Children ages 8+ years with some dance experience are introduced to beginner hip hop dancing techniques. They will learn age appropriate beginner choreography and are prepared to eventually progress on to the Advanced Hip Hop class.
Sing & Dance
Children of all ages are given vocal and dance training. They are taught to use both together effectively for theatrics. Basic music theory and practice are introduced and enforced. Beginner dance moves and concepts are introduced. This class performs in a recital and is given opportunities to perform for an audience. They will perform at the Christmas Tree Lighting each year.
Music Masters
Children age 2-6 are given relaxed instruction in musical knowledge in all of its forms. Children hear music from many genres and cultures. They are exposed to many instruments and are taught the basic concepts of how to use them. The children learn how to recognize an instrument visually and by sound alone. Basic theory concepts are introduced. Voice as an instrument is explored and solfege (Do, Re, Mi, etc) is introduced.
Movement & Music
Children age 0-5 years are introduced/reintroduced to movement to music. They are taught to freely perform basic dance moves to music. Students will reinforce their knowledge of animal sounds and emotions. They will learn to count up to 10, learn their colors, and improve their motor functions.
Music Exploration
Children age newborn to 5 explore music of different genres, cultures, and styles. They are introduced to new musical concepts and musical instruments. This is a very relaxed class to encourage interest in more advanced studies.
Bilingual Babies
Children age newborn to 5 years are introduced to music and language in a class designed to incorporate Spanish and English language development. Children are introduced to colors, shapes, numbers, and other language basics in both languages through song.
Intro to Singing
Students age 13 and over are given an introduction to singing. Students will learn basic music theory and will begin to sight read music. They will work on ear training, learning to blend and match pitch.
Intro To Guitar
Students of all ages are given an introduction to the guitar. Students will learn basic music theory and practice for the guitar. Students should have their own guitar at home to practice. They may rent or purchase one from Rhythmz. Children under 8 years old should be accompanied by a guardian to assist in their learning as they will require additional attention.
Intro To Piano
Students of all ages are given an introduction to the piano. Students will learn basic music theory and practice for the piano. Students will be provided a piano or keyboard during class but should have their own at home to practice. Keyboards may be rented or purchased from Rhythmz. Students under 8 years old should be accompanied by a guardian to assist in their learning as they will require additional attention.
Intro To Percussion
Students of all ages are given an introduction to percussion instruments. Students will learn basic music and theory practice for multiple instruments including drums. All instruments will be provided in class. Students will receive a set of drum sticks to practice at home. Students under 8 years old should be accompanied by a guardian to assist in their learning as they will require additional attention.
Jam Session
Students age 13 & up are given the opportunity to create and perform songs. They will learn how to make organized music with others. They are given the opportunity to perform on many different instruments as well as strengthen their abilities in a focus instrument. Students in this class are given the opportunity to perform for an audience.
